I don’t know about you but I feel like summer 2021 didn’t really arrive. It was a bit of a let down if I’m honest. I always judge it on the number of times we got the paddling pool out in the garden and I feel like we hardly did! But there’s always a silver lining. It means we’ve quickly moved on to the transition between summer and autumn which, to be honest, is my favourite time of the year. It’s not cold, but it’s not hot (a bit like most of the summer haha!) and we can think about denim, lock sleeves and co-ords again.

One of my favourite transitional pieces at the moment is the 100% cotton oversized shirt. It’s light but covers the arms, can be worn in so many different ways and is the perfect smart casual look for business or pleasure. Match it with some mom jeans for a seriously relaxed but well put together look. I wore this to a business meeting at the Ivy a few weeks ago and still felt like I was super professional! This shirt and the jeans are from the Lindex extended sizes range. The shirt is 100% cotton and buying cotton products from Lindex, you’re supporting more sustainable cotton farming through the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI). The same goes for the denim at Lindex. Their denim is called Better Denim which means it’s denim produced in a more sustainable way. These mom jeans are manufactured with water and energy-saving processes and dyed with one of the cleanest dyeing processes on the market. Pretty cool huh?

The boys are at an age now where they like to choose their outfits most of the time and with Cameo starting school and having to wear a uniform, I’m happy to let him choose the rest of the time. Plus, it helps that we all like the same thing! Ha! I do love a co-ord set when it comes to the boys. I feel like they just look so well put together even if we’ve scrambled to get out of the house with breakfast still on the table and dirty clothes on the floor! It’s the little things that help us at least look as though we have our life together! I’m totally here for legging style trousers for my boys because of the stretch and the comfort factor. I love these tops as transitional pieces because they can be layered up as it gets chillier. Think denim shirts or jackets and you’re halfway there.
These super cute outfits are from Lindex and from a parent perspective I find them a little bit generous in size and they wash up so well, time and time again! All of the boy’s outfits above are GOTS certified. This means it’s made from organic cotton and every step in the production has been independently certified to ensure it follows the social and environmental requirements of GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard). Again, it’s sustainable as well as looking great and feeling comfy for my little ones.
The key to the changing of the seasons when it comes to our wardrobes is just to have a couple of key things that you can turn to. So the oversized shirt is super versatile and a couple of lightweight jumpers with strong prints is enough to add a bit of life to your kids’ wardrobe too.
