Looking for an action-packed holiday? Well, I’ve got you covered. Holidays to Costa Dorada might be filled with amazing golden beaches, cocktails by the pool and all-inclusive resorts. But, if you’re looking for fun, adventure and unforgettable experiences, then Costa Dorada ticks all those boxes too!
With flights to Costa Dorada with Jet2 taking just over 2 hours and including 22kg of hold luggage and additional hand luggage, you can be prepared for every adventure. So, pack your swimming costumes, sun lotion and walking shoes, here are my must do activities to add to your Costa Dorada bucket list.
Monstant Tour & Wine Tasting
On my trip to Costa Dorada, we took a SUV 4×4 Tour with Siurana Tours Montsant including a visit to the St Joan Codolar Hermitage. High in the mountains, the views were stunning! We hiked back down the mountain, stopping at the vineyards and learning about the agricultural landscape of the region (and how global warming is making the wine region very tricky to manoeuvre these days). Paul, our guide, was so engaging, it really was a brilliant tour.
Heading out on a Monstant tour and wine tasting adventure in Costa Dorada is like unlocking a treasure chest of fun and flavour! Picture yourself strolling down mountains with amazing views, walking through cobblestone streets steeped in history, where every corner is full of ancient charm. Then, imagine yourself swirling, sniffing, and sipping on exquisite locally produced wines at Celler Cooperatiu Cornudella that dance on your palate. So, whether you’re a wine aficionado or a wine newbie, a Monstant tour and wine tasting experience promise a taste of joy and a sip of adventure in the sunny embrace of Costa Dorada!

La Morera Restaurant
A big foodie recommendation from me is to have Lunch in restaurant La Morera in Montsant. It has a seasonal menu full of local produce, home-made dishes and authentic Catalan cuisine. Its family run and it really does feel like you’ve stepped into someone house, it has a cosy and relaxed vibe, and the foot was incredible. Some of the recipes are form the owner’s grandmother, so you know you’re in for a treat.
As I mentioned before, the menu is seasonal, but during my Spring trip, I opted for snails, because when in Costa Dorada – right? But the strawberry salad was a taste sensation. A definite must visit.

Bike Ride
Salou in Costa Dorada has a dedicated cycle lane right next to the coast. We took a 4-mile bike ride from Salou to Cambrils and not only was it filled with stunning views, but the cycle path made it feel really safe and fun, even for a bike riding novice. It took around 40 minutes, going at a slow pace but you can stop off for brunch, enjoy the views or chill out on the gorgeous sandy beaches along the way.
You can hire bikes locally from the Salou tourist centre, including e-bikes for those of us who like a little help on their adventures! They also provide chains so you can have pit stops along your bike ride without fear of losing your bike.

Club Nàutic Salou
If you love water and want to try something a little different, then head to Club. Nestled along the sun-drenched shores of Salou, this nautical paradise is a treasure trove of excitement waiting to be discovered.
Club Nàutic Salou has something for everyone. From heart-pounding jet ski rides to leisurely catamaran cruises where you can soak up the Mediterranean sun in style, apparently there are over 120 different water activities to choose from! We had a go at paddle surfing. I was pleasantly surprised that they have plus size wet suits available, which was a great win in my eyes. I can’t lie, I was about as graceful as a belly flopping penguin and spent more time off the board than on it! But it was worth a try, a brilliant experience and I’d do it again.

Aquum in la Pineda
If water is your thing but you’d prefer a more relaxed approach compared to the paddle surfing, then Aquum Spa is for you. You can drift along the lazy river or bask in the sunshine by the tranquil pools. There are water jets, waterbeds, hot tubs, hydromassage pools, thermal areas, a Zen area and so much more! You will need to wear a swim hat which is provided, along with a robe and towel. For those craving a more leisurely experience, then this is worth adding to your Costa Dorada must visit list.

La Selva Street Food
Now this place is for foodie adventurers! La Selva Street Food in Cambrils is the place to be if you want something quirky and fun, but still have brilliant food. They offer everything from street style tacos served as sumo belly rolls (honestly, this was hilarious – loved it!) to Spanish dishes served in a bowl shaped like a Chimps head. I know, I know, it sounds wild. Well, there was also table set on fire (part of a cocktail delivery) and Aperol Spritz served from giant bottles. So, ignore all-inclusive for the night and head here for a dinner you won’t forget.

Salou Coastal Path
Get ready to lace up your walking shoes and soak in the salty breeze along the Salou Coastal Path—it’s a stroll worth savouring! With its panoramic views of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and rugged coastline, this scenic pathway is the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.
Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for a leisurely seaside promenade, the Salou Coastal Path offers something for everyone. Stop along the way to snap selfies against the backdrop of breath-taking vistas, or simply pause to watch the waves dance along the shore. It’s just under 6 miles long with some of the terrain more challenging than others. WE walked from the Lighthouse to the Platja Llarga beach and along that route are the best viewing points. So, if you don’t want to walk it all, that’s the sweet spot!

Yoga on the beach
Whether you add it on after your coastal walk like we did, or do it as a standalone activity, yoga on the beach is a must do activity in Costa Dorada. The warmth on your skin, the sea in the background, the breeze lightly drifting over you as you live in the moment. Not a Yoga expert? Me neither! But the Yoga instructors make you feel super comfortable and really emphasise the fact it’s not about being an expert, it’s not about being a better person, it’s just about being graceful in the moment. What a way to enjoy the Costa Dorada sun!

Restuarant el Palauet del Priorat
Dinner in restaurant el Palauet del Priorat will show you another side of Costa Dorada. Indulge your taste buds and elevate your dining experience to new heights at Restaurant El Palauet del Priorat where you’ll get a little bit of luxury.
Nestled in the heart of the Priorat wine region, the restaurant is based in a boutique style hotel owned by women for over 120 years. You can picture yourself seated in an elegant dining room, surrounded by opulent décor and really attentive staff. The food was just as good. Simple dishes but levelled up with amazing local ingredients. It’s the perfect romantic escape if you’re visiting Costa Dorada as a couple (date night sorted) or just a luxury style dinner for something a little different.

Human Towers Rehearsal
Prepare to be amazed and inspired by the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Human Towers Rehearsal in Costa Dorada! This mesmerizing tradition, known as “Castells,” is a breath-taking display of strength, skill, and teamwork that has been captivating audiences for centuries. You can watch the amazing rehearsals which usually start at the beginning of March and end at the end of October. You can find out more about when and where the rehearsals are here. We went to the Tarragona rehearsals, and it was incredible
Picture a bustling warehouse filled with anticipation as teams of brave castellers rehearse their gravity-defying formations, stacking themselves into towering human towers heading higher than you can imagine is possible. I held my beath watching them practise. Whether you’re a culture enthusiast, a thrill-seeker, or simply looking for a unique and unforgettable experience, watching a Human Towers Rehearsal is a must-do activity in Costa Dorada

H10 Imperial Tarraco Hotel
If you’re looking for a stunning base to explore Costa Dorada, H10 Imperial Tarraco is perfect. Set along the picturesque coastline of Tarragona, this luxurious hotel offers a prime location and an array of amenities that make it the ideal starting point for your Costa Dorada adventures.
With its incredible close proximity to some of Tarragona’s amazing historic landmarks and pristine beaches, you’ll find yourself perfectly situated to explore. Plus, it’s ideally located for local transport and taxis can be easily booked at reception. It’s only 30 minutes from Reus airport too!
After a day of sightseeing or soaking up the sun, return to the H10 Imperial Tarraco to relax and recharge in style. Take a dip in the outdoor pools, unwind with a cocktail on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean Sea or head to the rooftop for food. My sea room gave me a glorious view and the rooms were stylish, bright and clean. A really lovely hotel with incredible décor all over! The good news is that H10 Imperial Tarraco is part of Jet2holidays luxe collection. So you can holiday in style but also without the hassle.
